THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE

I shot this one starry night in Old City, Philadelphia. I shouldn’t say night cuz it was almost morning. And, by morning, I mean 4 a.m.

Walking 2nd St., I turned back to solitude in the quietness of the night. Closed restaurants, empty sidewalks, blocked off streets. But, it was light that rendered peace. Lampposts lit at capacity, interior building chandeliers on gentle dim, the moon, and the stars. Oh, the luminous sky.

Have you ever longed for a moment of stillness? No pollution, no noise, only the calmness of your imagination. Life travels at rapid speed. We live on rocket ships and roller coasters. In a world of constant, we need moments to inhale—moments to exhale—just breathe.

I’ll never know why I strolled the streets of Philly at 4 a.m., but I found my stillness: my no pollution, no noise, only the calmness of my imagination. And, I found it in the City of Brotherly Love.
