Artist Statement
Art is subjective. It is your perspective, how you seize or interpret. Messy, clean, colorful, or black and white. Graceful in its unbiased nature, Art is Art.
For me, a photograph must evoke feelings. It must tell a story in a way that is different from each who sees it. Often complex in its meaning, a picture worth a thousand words is soulfully intrinsic to the photography medium. Connections develop by removing unwarranted space, allowing trust to set in, which is why I stand close to whomever I photograph. When energy enters, the story unfolds.
Using digital and analog formats while seeking texture lighting elements, my monochromatic style blends fine art and portraiture. I strive for my work to convey emotion while mindfully approaching each composition with the utmost creative respect, understanding that our stories are ever-changing, whether we are all different or all the same.
Pictures are mysterious in darkness yet timeless when lacking color. My intentional use of grainy shadows and highlights artfully reflects that life is an ageless novel through which we must believe what we dream and create.

Ever since a little girl, I have been a creative force powered by my cosmetics fascination. I grew up watching my Mom apply makeup; I would sit and stare until her face was perfect. The ability to use eyes, cheeks, and lips as a canvas had me completely wonderstruck.
As the Beauty Director and Assistant Cosmetic Manager for one of the nation’s largest retail empires, I worked with Bobbi Brown, Jeanine Lobell, and other celebrity makeup artists, including Trish McEvoy and many more.
On the fast track, I relocated as the head of a deliciously Savvy clothing domain which is when I took a deep breath of ‘This is Fabulous’ and wrapped my arms around wardrobe styling. From there, I was represented for my makeup and styling by one of the world’s top modeling agencies.
While working with professional models and photographers for editorial, runway, and commercial print, I made my way into national magazines, catalogs, and television while humbly embracing it all.
My two beautifully vibrant children inspire me every day through their clever, free-spirited ways, and my awe in them is tireless.
