DON’T RUN FROM SHADOWS – LET THEM LEAD YOU As a photographer I love to get outside on a beautiful day because there is nothing better to shoot in than gorgeous, natural light. It’s real, it’s pure and the force it brings is creative. We can’t perfectly control the time of our shoots and it’s impossible to control the weather so when the forecast turns from sun mixed with clouds to straight, direct sunlight; don’t run from the shadows and follow their lead. Placing your subject in direct sun is scary because the harsh shadows it casts are often unflattering; therefore, we most comfortably opt for backlight or open shade. Our comfort zones rarely fail us and stepping outside of them would be like skydiving! No way! The call here was “hey, Lori, it’s Mother Nature; change in plans this morning – it’s going be super sunny; sorry for the late notice but I’m feeling bright and spontaneous today!” Embracing instant change gives us power to think “right now”, “this minute”, “without hesitation”. It’s power to own our ideas. And, there is magic in owning something you didn’t buy. In this photo, Carsyn was sitting in a field surrounding a golf course. In from Denver, this 12 year old dancer is nothing short of remarkable and I was honored to capture this moment of awe. BEAUTY SHAKES HANDS WITH FUNK AND WELCOMES GRACE. Watch for London Rose – she’s up and coming. HUGE!
Hi, friends! Meet Isaiah – better known as Zay. This free spirited visual artist is up and coming. Humble, provocative yet pure. Zay’s photographs are another extension my project – Beauty in the Faces of Regular People. No Actor. No Supermodel. No Trump Tower Resident. Don’t let the fear of falling keep you from flying. Find the stars. #BeautifulFaces #RegularPeople
Hello, friends! These photos that I took are again of regular people. No Actors, No Supermodels and No Trump Tower residents. This is a continuation of Finding Beauty in the Faces of Regular People. We have mama Lisa, mama Shelley and rapper extraordinaire, Gabi.
Hello my friends. I am working on an artistic photography project that unveils beauty within the Faces of regular people. They are not movie stars. They are not supermodels out of photo shop. They are not billionaires residing in the Tower called Trump. They are us – you and me. Real people doing what they love and striving to be the best they can be. It was an honor collaborating with each and every one of them and I hope you will enjoy the forthcoming collection as much as I enjoyed taking their photographs. The higher you reach, the bigger you dream. Find the Stars. XoXo Lori UP FIRST- MENACHEM. Up and Coming Musician – Singer – Songwriter NEXT- ANTHONY. HS Junior – Basketball AUSTIN.
